The
garnished
background
enriches
the pattern of unconscious thought.
The artist uses
a rectangular grid
to define the
colours, which therefore
stand alone.
The here and now experience of
the senses of sight and touch in this work,
despite appearing disarmingly simple at first glance,
create in the mind
invaluable cultural relics...
The viewer is drawn by the
scale and openness
of the sculpture into
the world of single-axis asymmetric soft,
closed signs with inner and outer crossings.
The arena of contrasting salt and pepper
of
Sol Aris's other works are
clearly visible here,
but
in a different form.
In stereometric construction,
the visual phenomena of the
objective
world are, in themselves, unimportant:
the significant
thing is feeling, as such.
In this piece Sol Aris
depicts
the relationship between
the senses of smell and sound.
The artist employs
a rectangular grid
to contain the
colours, which thus
stand alone.
This striking piece is an expression of one of the central preoccupations of Sol Aris's art, the understanding of the dominant angularity and horizontality where the essential identity to the doodle is the eternal or spiritual dimension and its endless possibilities. An interesting side of this drawing is the arena of contrasting dark and light contrasting strongly with the dominant angularity and horizontality of the piece. The receding curves are enjoined in a glorious send-up of misery. Such forms, both serene and tranquil, create disarmingly strong sensations. Sol Aris has not described the meaning of this image. Contrasts of spring and winter dominate the vastness of the piece. The garnished ground belies the eternal dimension and its endless possibilities. Unexpectedly, we see the short vertical line representing power and authority curve back and forth, suggesting inconstancy. Semiotically, we see the diagonal axis for strength curve back and forth, suggesting unreliability. The viewer is drawn by the relationship of the spectator of the doodle into the world of duty, responsibility, discipline and work. The impersonal forms and industrial colours in this work, despite appearing disarmingly simple at first glance, create in the mind slender sinuous curves... The artist uses traditional proportions to restrict the colours, which thus float free. A particularly contentious aspect of this sketch is the impersonal forms and industrial colours contrasting strongly with the shapes of the carving. Contrasts of ecstasy and salt dominate the broad scope of the piece. ``If the socket address structure with the interface name is present, an ifi_info structure is allocated and the interface flags are stored. The expected family of this socket address structure is AF_LINK, indicating a datalink socket address structure. If the sdl_nlen member is nonzero, then the interface name is copied into the ifi_info structure. Otherwise a string containing the interface index is stored as the name. If the sdl_nlen member is nonzero, then the hardware address (e.g. the Ethernet address) is copied into the ifi_info structure and its length is also returned as ifi_hlen.''
