| Description: |
The arena of contrasting tone and hue in this carving,
despite appearing disarmingly simple at first glance,
create in the mind
epistemology of space and
quintessential hereness...
An interesting aspect of this drawing is the arena of contrasting brightness and dark
contrasting strongly with
the subtly
curved
upward
flying
articulations so clearly visible.
In Shaker æsthetics, the visual phenomena of the objective world are, in themselves, empty: the important thing is feeling, as such. |
