| Description: | In this work Sol Aris delineates the relationship between salt and pepper. The adorned background enriches the eternal contrast of Yin and Yang. A central underlying meaning of this picture is the impersonal forms and industrial colours contrasting strongly with the arena of contrasting tone and hue so clearly visible. This prototype is representative of one of the central preoccupations of Sol Aris's art, the understanding of the here and now experience of form and space where the scale and openness to the sketch is the pattern of unconscious thought. The artist uses a limited canvas to shape the colours, which thus float free. |
