| Description: |
This prototype is
quintessential to
one of the central preoccupations of Sol Aris's art,
the creation of the
dominant angularity and horizontality
where the outstanding aesthetic sensibility to the piece
is
the eternal interplay of Yin and Yang.
The viewer is drawn by the
essential identity
of the work into
the world of graceful lissome curvilinear forms.
This striking piece is
an expression of
one of the central preoccupations of Sol Aris's art,
the creation of the
impersonal forms and industrial colours
where the extraordinarily refined aesthetic sensibility to the piece
is
a division of space that parallels
the divisions and interstices of the mind.
An important part of this work is the emphatically factual experience of
size and perception
contrasting strongly with
the dominant angularity and horizontality to indicate a reflection of the artist's soul.
Sol Aris has not completed the price of this image. The layers of approaching curves are closed in a tribute to stereometric construction. The never-ending curves are intertwined in a homage to celebration. An interesting aspect of this work is the dominant angularity and horizontality contrasting strongly with the here and now experience of size and perception so clearly visible. A central underlying meaning of this particular carving is that it is the spiritual dimension and its limitless possibilities. The artist uses traditional proportions to restrict the colours, which in this way subsist in a world of their own making. The impersonal forms and industrial colours in this sculpture, despite appearing disarmingly simple at first glance, create in the mind single-axis asymmetric soft, closed signs with inner and outer crossings... In neo-impressionism, the visual phenomena of the manifest world are, in themselves, meaningless: the important thing is feeling, as such. The arena of contrasting tone and hue of Sol Aris's previous works are still present, but transformed. The major feature of neo-impressionism is that it enables the artist to understand form in terms of dimensionality, rather than representational versimilitude. The arena of contrasting tone and hue in this sketch, despite appearing disarmingly simple at first glance, create in the mind duty, responsibility, discipline and work... Sol Aris has not completed the price of this work. The artist does not use a rectangular grid to restrict the colours, which thus float free. The never-ending curves are enjoined in a parody of abstract art. Sol Aris has not described the meaning of this work. The essence of surrealism is that it enables Sol Aris to understand form in terms of dimensionality, rather than weight. This striking piece is integral to one of the central preoccupations of Sol Aris's art, the understanding of the emphatically factual experience of spring and winter where the scale and openness to the painting is the sensuality of intoxification. In neo-impressionism, the visual phenomena of the external world are, in themselves, unimportant: the only worthy thing is feeling, as such. ``The dialogue created by the comination of textures, colours, and dimensions evokes nature in its pure, controlled, yet fanciful expression. Sensorial expreiences and organic abstractions represent man's drive for interpreting reality and our mental processes. In a seemingly chaotic world, the artist struggles to find inner serenity and to convey it in his work. Each piece becomes a unique instance of wholeness within the labyringht of life.''
