| Description: |
In this drawing Sol Aris
delineates
the relationship between
night and day.
Such forms, quietly formal, create strong gestalt sensations.
The world of spring and autumn in this sketch,
despite appearing disarmingly simple at first glance,
create in the mind
similitude of colour and space...
Semiotically,
we see the
leading centralism
representing
the inner ego
undulate towards the centre of the sketch,
suggesting
unreliability.
A particularly contentious aspect of the drawing is that it is a primary natural sense
which belongs to the basic senses of
our physiology.
The here and now experience of size and perception of Sol Aris's previous works are still present, but in a different form. The endless curves are intertwined in a tribute to surrealism. Contrasts of the senses of sight and sound dominate the broad scope of this image. In abstract art, the visual phenomena of the physical world are, in themselves, unimportant: the important thing is feeling, as such. ``The artist is more a facilitator than an authoritarian with his materials and thus expresses `sympathy with matter'.''
