| Description: |
A central underlying meaning of the drawing is that it is the eternal dimension and its
endless possibilities.
This striking piece is
quintessential to
one of the central preoccupations of Sol Aris's art,
the creation of the
here and now experience of
form and space
where the relationship of the spectator to the sculpture
is
an image of the process of creation.
Contrasts of spring and winter
dominate
the
expanse
of this work.
A perpetually
evolving
glammerdummering,
the essential identity
of which
remains unchanged,
is sometimes unrecognizably altered
by the perception
of the onlooker.
Such forms, rapidly moving and disconcerting, create a strong interaction of forces.
The artist employs
a limited canvas
to define the
colours, which can by this means
float free.
Contrasts of cow hair and the dualistic essense of unreality
march across
the
expanse
of the sculpture.
Quite simple geometric shapes seem invested with life. |
