Pretentious Yet Pointless
In this work Sol Aris demonstrates clearly the relationship between salt and pepper. The viewer is drawn by the scale and openness of the drawing into the world of pepper and pepper. The major feature of surrealism is that it encourages the viewer to define form in terms of area, rather than weight. Contrasts of colour and space dominate the expanse of this sketch.
