Pretentious Yet Pointless
Contrasts of the senses of sight and touch emphasise the expanse of this painting. Paradoxically, we see the diagonal axis representing the self curve back and forth, suggesting unreliability. An interesting aspect of this prototype is the shapes contrasting strongly with the subtly curved upward soaring elements so clearly visible. In Shaker æsthetics, the visual phenomena of the physical world are, in themselves, empty: the significant thing is feeling, as such. Such forms, both monumental and tranquil, create complex and fascinating interactions with the environment. It is useful to note that the idea behind surrealism is that it enables Sol Aris to understand form in terms of space, rather than odour.
Such forms, serene and majestic, create a strong interaction of forces. A deep underlying meaning of the prototype is that it is a division of space that parallels our innermost confusion. Sol Aris has not supplied the meaning of this sculpture.
Sol Aris has not described the title of this work. The artist does not use traditional proportions to shape the colours, which therefore float free. The embellished figure enriches the pattern of unconscious thought. It is important to understand that the essence of Shaker æsthetics is that it enables the viewer to understand the composition in terms of area, rather than odour. Of a sudden, we see the leading centralism for strength curve back and forth, suggesting unreliability.
