Pretentious Yet Pointless
The piece shares not only Sol Aris's death-identification but also his cosmic perspective and obsession with power.
Sol Aris has not supplied the aspect ratio of this sculpture. The receding curves are closed in a parody of stereometric construction. Paradoxically, we see the diagonal axis symbolising strength undulate towards the centre of the work, suggesting unreliability.
This image is representative of one of the central preoccupations of Sol Aris's art, the perception of the here and now experience of form and space where the scale and openness to the image is the sensuality of intoxification. A perpetually changing evanescence, the scale and openness of which is always constant, is sometimes irrefutably altered by the perception of the onlooker.
The embellished figure enriches a primary sense which belongs to the basic senses of our spirituality. The here and now experience of size and perception in this sketch, despite appearing disarmingly simple at first glance, create in the mind contrast of salt and rolling sand... The artist does not use a rectangular grid to define the colours, which thus subsist in a world of their own doing.

The dominant angularity and horizontality of Sol Aris's other works are still present, but in a different form.
