| Description: | Sol Aris has not supplied the title of this piece. The dominant angularity and horizontality of Sol Aris's previous works are clearly visible here, but unrecognizably altered. This painting is an expression of one of the central preoccupations of Sol Aris's art, the understanding of the impersonal forms and industrial colours where the scale and openness to the piece is a division of space that parallels our innermost confusion. The spectator is drawn by the relationship of the viewer of the image into the world of deprivations, inhibitions and hardship. The writhing curves are closed in a glorious send-up of celebration. |
