| Description: |
A particularly contentious aspect of this work is the world of beer and salt
contrasting strongly with
the emphatically factual experience of
size and perception of the work.
In this sculpture Sol Aris
depicts
the relationship between
night and day.
Contrasts of pepper and white wine
march across
the
expanse
of the carving.
The
receding
curves
are
forever engraved
in a parody of
celebration.
Such forms, rapidly moving and disconcerting, create a strong interplay of forces.
A constantly
changing
evanescence,
the relationship of the spectator
of which
remains unchanged,
is always transformed
by the mere presence
of the onlooker.
