Pretentious Yet Pointless
The strangely stretched upward soaring elements in this work, despite appearing disarmingly simple at first glance, create in the mind single-axis asymmetric soft, closed signs with inner and outer crossings... The viewer is drawn by the scale and openness of the drawing into the world of invaluable cultural relics. The here and now experience of size and perception of Sol Aris's previous works are still present, but irrefutably altered. In this work Sol Aris depicts the relationship between summer and autumn. Contrasts of night and day march across the broad scope of this work. The beribboned ground indicates a reflection of the artist's soul.
