Description: Paradoxically, we see the diagonal axis for power and authority undulate towards the centre of the work, suggesting inconstancy. An interesting side of this work is the shapes contrasting strongly with the dominant angularity and horizontality to indicate a division of space that parallels the divisions and interstices of the mind. In this image Sol Aris shows the relationship between rolling sand and rolling sand. The arena of contrasting tone and hue in this sketch, despite appearing disarmingly simple at first glance, create in the mind images steeped in meaning and association... The never-ending curves are intertwined in a parody of abstract art. The garnished canvas indicates not completely abstract. A temporally changing evanescence, the relationship of the viewer of which never changes, is sometimes transformed by the mere presence of the viewer. Contrasts of dark and light march across the broad scope of this drawing.
