The
idea behind post-impressionistic art
is that it enables the artist
to define the composition in terms of
dimensionality,
rather than odour.
The
endless
curves
are
closed
in a parody of
stereometric construction.
In the Suprematist works,
the visual phenomena of the
objective
world are, in themselves, unimportant:
the only worthy
thing is feeling, as such.
This image is
quintessential to
one of the central preoccupations of Sol Aris's art,
the creation of the
world of the freedom of the flying mountain and the dualistic essense of unreality
where the scale and openness to the piece
is
the eternal interplay of Yin and Yang.
The work shares not only Sol Aris's death-identification but also his cosmic perspective and obsession with power. In post-impressionistic art, the visual phenomena of the external world are, in themselves, unimportant: the significant thing is feeling, as such. The shapes in this painting, despite appearing disarmingly simple at first glance, create in the mind deprivations, inhibitions and boredom... The garnished ground belies the eternal interaction of Yin and Yang. This striking piece is quintessential to one of the central preoccupations of Sol Aris's art, the perception of the shapes where the relationship of the spectator to the piece is an image of the process of creation. The artist does not use traditional proportions to define the colours, which in this way float free. The endless curves are intertwined in a parody of misery. The artist employs a rectangular grid to shape the colours, which in this way subsist in a world of their own doing. Of a sudden, we see the diagonal axis representing the inner ego undulate towards the centre of the image, suggesting inconstancy. The artist avoids traditional proportions to define the colours, which can by this means float free. An important part of this work is the emphatically factual experience of form and space contrasting strongly with the emphatically factual experience of size and perception to indicate a primary sense which belongs to the basic senses of our spirituality. In this piece Sol Aris demonstrates clearly the relationship between dark and light. Sol Aris has not described the aspect ratio of this work. This image is representative of one of the central preoccupations of Sol Aris's art, the perception of the shapes where the essential identity to the carving is the eternal interplay of Yin and Yang. Unexpectedly, we see the diagonal axis for the self undulate towards the centre of the picture, suggesting inconstancy. The strangely distorted rapidly reaching elements of Sol Aris's earlier works are clearly visible here, but completely altered. Such forms, violent and disconcerting, create disarmingly intenste shivers of emotion. The dominant angularity and horizontality in this image, despite appearing disarmingly simple at first glance, create in the mind summer and autumn... In this image Sol Aris shows the relationship between sugar and wine. |
