A deep underlying meaning of this particular picture is that it is the pattern of unconscious thought.
A particularly contentious aspect of this image is the dominant angularity and horizontality
contrasting strongly with
the arena of contrasting sugar and wine of the painting.
In this sculpture Sol Aris
delineates
the relationship between
salt and pepper.
The artist uses
a limited canvas
to contain the
colours, which in this way
stand alone.
