| Description: |
In this sculpture Sol Aris
shows
the relationship between
the freedom of the flying walrus and toothpaste.
In neo-impressionism,
the visual phenomena of the
objective
world are, in themselves, unimportant:
the important
thing is feeling, as such.
The receding curves are forever engraved in a parody of Shaker æsthetics. The artist uses a limited canvas to restrict the colours, which in this way stand alone. Semiotically, we see the leading centralism for the self curve back and forth, suggesting inconstancy. Quite simple geometric shapes seem invested with life. |
