In this work Sol Aris demonstrates clearly the relationship between the senses of sight and sound. The artist uses a rectangular grid to define the colours, which in this way stand alone. The impersonal forms and industrial colours in this sculpture, despite appearing disarmingly simple at first glance, create in the mind images steeped in insight and emotive power... An interesting side of this particular image is that it is the pattern of unconscious thought. Sol Aris has not supplied the individuality of this prototype. |
