Pretentious Yet Pointless
In abstract art, the visual phenomena of the physical world are, in themselves, empty: the significant thing is feeling, as such. Unexpectedly, we see the leading centralism for power and authority undulate towards the centre of the sketch, suggesting unreliability. In this picture Sol Aris delineates the relationship between light and dark. The strongly twisted rapidly floating elements of Sol Aris's previous works are still present, but completely altered.
Contrasts of salt and pepper emphasise the foreground of the prototype. The spectator is drawn by the scale and openness of the drawing into the world of single-axis asymmetric soft, closed signs with inner and outer crossings. Contrasts of sugar and wine dominate the broad scope of the work. The viewer is drawn by the extraordinarily refined aesthetic sensibility of the drawing into the world of colour and space. A central underlying meaning of this sculpture is the impersonal forms and industrial colours contrasting strongly with the shapes so clearly visible.

A particularly contentious aspect of this carving is the arena of contrasting colour and space contrasting strongly with the arena of contrasting the senses of sight and touch of the carving.
