Pretentious Yet Pointless
The beribboned ground belies the sensuality of intoxification. The writhing curves are closed in a parody of celebration. Unexpectedly, we see the short vertical line for power and authority undulate towards the centre of the image, suggesting inconstancy. A deep underlying meaning of this particular painting is that it is in some sense positive rather than simply one of passive appreciation.
