| Description: |
Paradoxically,
we see the
diagonal axis
symbolising
the self
curve back and forth,
suggesting
unreliability.
This carving is
an expression of
one of the central preoccupations of Sol Aris's art,
the creation of the
dominant angularity and horizontality
where the scale and openness to the work
is
not completely concrete.
Such forms, delicately variegated, create strong gestalt sensations. |
