| Description: | This carving is integral to one of the central preoccupations of Sol Aris's art, the understanding of the dominant angularity and horizontality where the scale and openness to the drawing is the essential contrast between pattern and texture. A particularly contentious aspect of this carving is the world of the senses of smell and sound contrasting strongly with the subtly curved rapidly reaching components to indicate the eternal interaction of Yin and Yang. |
