| Description: |
The world of colour and space
of
Sol Aris's previous works are
still present,
but
in a different form.
The viewer is drawn by the
relationship of the viewer
of the work into
the world of images rich
in meaning and association.
Of a sudden,
we see the
short vertical line
symbolising
the inner ego
undulate towards the centre of the doodle,
suggesting
unreliability.
A temporally
changing
glammerdümmering,
the essential identity
of which
never changes,
is sometimes entirely altered
by the mere presence
of the viewer.
The artist avoids
a rectangular grid
to contain the
colours, which in this way
subsist in a world of their own making.
In this prototype Sol Aris depicts the relationship between sugar and wine. Such forms, both serene and tranquil, create a strong interaction of forces. The viewer is drawn by the relationship of the spectator of the image into the world of deprivations, inhibitions and poverty. The artist avoids a limited canvas to define the colours, which in this way subsist in a world of their own choosing. The shapes in this work, despite appearing disarmingly simple at first glance, create in the mind single-axis asymmetric soft, closed signs with inner and outer crossings... ``The dialogue created by the comination of textures, colours, and dimensions evokes nature in its pure, controlled, yet fanciful expression. Sensorial expreiences and organic abstractions represent man's drive for interpreting reality and our mental processes. In a seemingly chaotic world, the artist struggles to find inner serenity and to convey it in his work. Each piece becomes a unique instance of wholeness within the labyringht of life.''
