Macro close-up of some cogs and bits of machinery; the thing on the left is a sort of spring-loaded clutch (not from a car, though!). As the wheel turns the spring gradually coils, until eventually the other end starts to turn, and then they turn together. The idea seems to be to provide a sort of cushion for stopping and starting.
