Odin Cave 1, in Castleton, Stockport, Cheshire, England more
Underneath a grassy hill, a cave mouth, a blackness in the rock, and a path leading down and inside. Perhaps King Arthur lies sleeping here, ready for England’s greatest need.
This cave is the entrance to the Odin Mine in the Peak District; it has probably been mined, like the Blue John Cavern, since Roman times or before, but intensively from 1730 or so until some time in the 19th century.
