Some of the bricks are almost or completely gone. It’s a double or even triple layer of brick with no gap, as that’s the way they built houses over here in the 1860s. [more...]

We think this is where the bats are getting in; they live in the attic. Luckily the ceilings inside are OK.

Someone tried to use an iron rod, although the problem doesn’t seem to have been that it was spreading outwards sideways, just sagging! You can see how the top of the window sags here. [more...]

This is the right-hand side of the vestibule, so the sagging side is to the left, hence the cracks.
